We are happy to say that with the latest features of the Sportal365 content management system creators can preview football widgets from the block menu before adding them to their post. Also, we add a new Team form widget and Polls block that let journalists engage their audience even moreincrease audience engagement with their content.

Widget preview in Block menu

Release 3.13.0. introduces a functionality allowing creators to preview Football widget blocks before adding them to Articles, Videos, or Galleries.

The preview offers a look at how the widget will display inside your post, as well as gives a short summary of the widget. This helps journalists quickly decide whether it is the right widget to use or not.

 Previewing a widget from the Block menu

 To preview a widget from the Block menu:

  1. Select the + button used for adding blocks.

  2. Then, select Football widgets.

  3. Once the Football widgets menu expands, hover over a widget to preview it.


Team form widget

The Team form widget is a new football widget that lets journalists show how a team is performing after a specific number of matches.

The Team form widget looks at the performance of a team during the last 15 matches (15 is the match limit), adds the points from each Win (3) /Loss (0) /Draw (1), and then divides it by the total number of points (12pt.) to display how the team is doing i.e. Bad/Good/Very good/Excellent.

Adding the Team form widget to a post

To add a Team form widget to a post (Article, Video, or Gallery):

  1. Select the + button to open the Block menu.

  2. Then, Football widgets-->Team form.

  3. Once the widget configuration panel opens, enter a Team / Tournament / Season and set a Match limit.

  4. When done, select Save Block.


Polls block

With this latest update of the Sportal365 CMS, we add a Polls block to the Content blocks menu. Now, you can add a poll to your Article, Video, and Gallery as a new block directly from the body of your post.

Adding a Poll block to your post

To add a Poll block to your post, you need to create a poll first. See How to create a new poll.

After you have created a poll:

  1. Select the + button to expand the Blocks menu.

  2. Then, select Content-->Polls.

  3. When theconfiguration screen opens, enter the name of your created poll inside the Choose poll box.

  4. When done, select Save block.
