Release notes 3.9.0

Hello everyone,

We are happy to introduce the latest release, 3.9.0., of the Sportal365 content management system. With this version of the CMS, we introduce new features that will improve the quality and speed with which your team creates content.

As part of update 3.9.0., we roll out an integration with Dugout, for an unlimited number of football videos that you can use in your posts. Also, from now on editors and journalists will be able to accurately translate football data with a built into the CMS translations feature, and offer detailed match statistics with a new match listing widget.

New features:

  • Dugout integration

  • Translations

  • Match list by stage/round widget

More details about the latest features:

The integration with Dugout, a platform with unmatched access to videos from the world’s top clubs, makes possible finding and adding football videos to your posts without leaving your editing screen.

After you configure Dugout, you can add videos as supporting content or as main media of your post.

Adding Dugout video as supporting content

To add a Dugout video as supporting content, you need to add a Dugout video block to the body of your post:

  1. Open an article, video, or gallery.

  2. Go to the body and select + icon to add a video block.

  3. From the menu choose Content > Dugout video

4. When the block opens, select the language you want to conduct your search in.

5. Then, search by player, team, tournament, and so on for the video you want to add. For example, type “Messi” or “Manchester United”.

6. A list of all videos with Lionel Messi (or Manchester United) will appear. To add the video you want, hover over it and select the + that will appear.

Note that you can preview your video before saving it, as well as copy the embed code to use it somewhere else.

7. When done, select Save block.

Adding Dugout video as Main media

In addition to adding Dugout videos as supporting content, videos can also serve as main media of your posts.

Note that Dugout videos can only be used as main media for articles and videos, but you can add them as supporting content to the body of articles, videos, and galleries.

To add a Dugout video as main media:

  1. Open an article or video.

  2. Select the Media tab from your content properties.

  3. Go to Choose Main Media > Embed video.

  4. When the Video embed box opens, you can either paste your Dugout video’s embed code or select Search Dugout videos.

Note that you can also access Dugout from the Integrations in the navigation menu if you want to use elements of the Dugout interface or integrate a video in your content.

Translations is a new feature designed to improve the quality of your copy, and save creators time when they translate from English to another language the names of coaches, venues, tournaments, teams, and players.

Translations lets you accurately translate from English to Bulgarian, Romanian (more languages will be added with new updates).

Note that when you translate the name of a player, coach, tournament, etc., the translation will be saved and reflected everywhere it is used in the system (e.g. Widgets, APIs) so that you won’t have to translate it again.

To translate the name of a coach, venue, tournament, team, or player:

  1. From the navigation menu go to Sport > Translations.

  2. In the Translate to box, select the language you want to translate your text to.

Аt the moment, the available languages are Bulgarian, English, and Romanian.

3. Select Entity > Team.

You can choose to translate the names of coaches, venues, tournaments, teams, and players.

4. Next, in the Team box, write the name of the team you want to translate. For example, Manchester united.

Note that when you select to translate a team name, you will get more detailed information than when you translate the name of a venue, coach, tournament, and player.

With release 3.9.0. we introduce the Match list by stage/round widget that will help you integrate detailed information about a specific match into your posts.

This new widget groups matches by tournaments, seasons, rounds, stages, and filters them by dates. Also, you can add odds from different bookmakers, as well as change the widget view–horizontal/vertical–and position it in different places on your page.

The Match list by stage/round widget lets you configure:

  • Tournament, Season, Stage and Round

To offer detailed match information, you need to first select the tournament, season, stage, and round you want to display matches for.

  • View

By selecting the View box, you can choose to display your widget horizontally or vertically on your web page.

Horizontal preview
Vertical preview
  • Header

In the Title box, you can configure the title that will display on top of your match list.

  • Labels

When you enter a label in the Label box, you create a text (e.g. View more) with a link (URL) leading to a different page. This is useful when you want to send readers to a page with additional information about a specific match.

Note that the label will be displayed only when there aren’t odds for the given match.

  • Filters

In this section of the widget configuration, you can use several filters to get detailed information about a match. You can set dates, arrange matches in ascending/descending order, and select bookmakers.
