The optimization of videos differs from that of articles only in the way videos are uploaded to the Sportal365 CMS, everything else follows the same logic.

On this page, you’ll learn the steps to optimizing videos with the content properties in the system.

Optimizing a video

Follow the steps below to learn how to optimize the videos you upload. Here’s how:

  1. From the main navigation, select Videos.

2. When the videos listing screens open, select the video you want to optimize (e.g. “Arsenal's Arteta talks annoy City, Ancelotti set for Everton”).

3. Next, open the video and go to the content properties in the right corner of your screen. There are eight tabs with properties to optimize your video–General, Media, Tags, Related content, URLs, SEO, Lists, Custom data.

 General tab

The General tab lets you select category(ies), author(s), status, and additional properties for your video.

To optimize your video’s General tab:

  1. Expand the General tab.

2. Select a main category from the Categories drop-down box.

Remember, selecting a main category is mandatory for creating a video.

3. To add an additional category, select the Additional Categories box.

4. Next, open the Author box, and select the author you wish.

5. If you want to add a custom author, enter the author in the Custom Author box.

6. To set the status of your video, go to the Status box and select from the options Active/Inactive.

7. To select video properties, go to Properties and choose from the options.

8. Lastly, if you want to set a period for your video to be active, enter the desired dates in the Pubslihed From / Pubslihed Until boxes.

For more information, see Content properties for specific content titles.

 Media tab

The Media tab is where you upload your videos and main image for them, which serve the role of a thumbnail for your video when you upload it to your site.

To optimize your video’s media:

  1. Expand the Media tab to select video media.

2. If you want to upload new main image, select Upload new images.

3. To upload already existing images in the system as main image(s), select Toggle already uploaded images.

4. Choose Main Media > Embed Video to upload videos to the CMS.

Refer to How to create a Video.

Note that once you select an image as main media, you can crop it by selecting Crop image.

For more information, see Content properties for specific content titles.

 Tags tab

Under the Tags tab, you can optimize a video with a tag you have created, as well as the football connections suggested by the system.

To optimize your video with tags:

  1. Expand the Tags tab.

2. In the Tags box, enter a tag(s) you have already created in the system.

3. To tag a video with football connections, go to the Football Connections box and select the recognized entity suggestions you want to tag your video with.

Note that you can tag your video with football connections either by adding all suggestions or only the once you desire.

Once you enter football connections, the system will suggest relevant past/upcoming matches to connect to your video.

4. To add relevant matches, select either the Upcoming matches or Past matches tabs. Then click on the + sign to select a match.

For more information, see Content properties for specific content titles.

 Related content tab

The Related content tab is directly connected to the football connections you use in the Tags tab and lets you select and include additional reading/watching to your post.

You can either add suggested videos, galleries, and articles to your post or search yourself for related content.

To add related content to your post:

  1. Expand the Related content tab.

2. Under the Suggestions tab, select a content type you want to add as related content i.e. Articles, Videos, or Galleries.

To optimize your video’s URLs tab:

  1. Expand the URLs tab.

2. In the External URL box, paste the URL to an external source you want to send users to.
