What is a cloud-based platform?
A system based in the cloud is one that uses a server online to host, process, or store data.
Unlike traditional computing setups, where you run applications or programs from software downloaded on a physical computer located in a building somewhere, a cloud setup allows on-demand availability through the internet of computer system resources: data storage, computing power and so on.
Systems based in the cloud are reliable, scalable, and deliver a faster performance of your website (See Integration).
In the cloud, if one server fails that doesn’t mean that your site goes down too. The server is immediately replaced by another server without loss of data or your website even knowing the difference. The cloud has great uptime and availability of servers. Moreover, since you have access to an array of servers in the cloud, whenever there is a spike in website traffic, you can add resources accordingly.
