Content organization
- Martin Tsekov
In this section, you will find answers to questions related to the tools available for organizing content on your website with the Sportal365 content management system.
Categories group the content on your site into general topics so that visitors can understand what your website is about and easily find what they are looking for.
Categories are hierarchical and are organized as Parent/Child categories, which offers a structured way for search engines and users to find posts. The best example of Parent/Child category hierarchy is assuming that you have a parent category named “Football” and a child category “Bundesliga”.
You can create a page(s) on your website with all posts tagged with a certain category. Also, when you create a category, the system offers properties to optimize it for search engines and visually enrich the way your category looks on your website.
For more information, see Categorization & organization of content → Categories.
A category is a mandatory element for creating articles, videos, and galleries with the CMS. Each post can have a main category and an additional category (optional).
To add a category to a post, you first need to create it (if it isn’t). See How to create a Category.
Then, you can select either an existing post to add a category to or create a new post. Bear in mind that if you open an existing post, you can change the already used category and add additional categories. Alternatively, it’s when you create a post from scratch that you add a category as a mandatory element for the first time.
Look at How to create an Article to learn how to add a category to a post.
Similarly, to categories, using tags in your content helps organize posts on your website and makes search results more accurate. Tags are used to describe your posts in more detail and focus on specific topics. Tags are like keywords used for topics discussed in a post.
With tags, you can create a page on your website that lists all posts using a certain tag. Tags are not hierarchical and are optional elements when creating posts.
Furthermore, the Sportal365 CMS offers tag properties that serve as features designed to optimize for search engines and visually enrich the look of tags and tag pages on your website.
For more on the topic, see Categorization & organization of content → Tags.
Tags are not a mandatory element for creating and saving a post, and they can be added later when optimizing your content.

See How to create an Article-->Tags tab to learn how to add a tag to a post. Videos and Galleries follow the same logic.
Statistical entities, also known as Football Connections, is a group term for all the statistical information that comes from the Football API and can be used to tag your content. Football Connections are a type of statistical tags used to specify to which match, player, or team a certain news article is related to. In that sense, you can say that Football Connections let you tag your posts with matches, players, and teams.
When you tag a post with football connections, say, “Juventus, Ajax, De Ligt”, your post will appear together with all posts tagged with the same football connections.
Unlike Tags, journalists don’t create and support Football Connections with Sportal365, but the information is fed to the CMS directly from the Football API.
