Hello everyone,

We are happy to introduce the latest update of the Sportal365 content management system.

Release 3.10.0 lets you take advantage of several new features and improvements that further increase the speed of content production and making posts visually engaging.

What’s new?

  • Emoticons

  • Duplication of posts

  • Re-arrangement of content property tabs

Here are more details about the latest improvement and features:

Emoticons or emojis is a feature that helps journalists make their posts more engaging and cater to an audience used to consuming content infused with interactive and visually appealing elements.

Note that you can insert emojis in the titles, straplines, and text blocks of articles, videos, and galleries.

How to add an emoji?

To add an emoji to the title/strapline of an article, video or gallery:

  1. Go to the navigation menu → Articles (Video or Gallery)

  2. Create New Article or select an existing one from the list.

  3. In the Tile and Strapline boxes, select the smiley face to expand the emojis list.

4. Find the emoji you want to add and select it.

If you want to add an emoji in the body of your post:

  1. Select a text block.

  2. When the block’s editing panel opens, select the special characters sign to open the emojis menu.

3. Choose the emoji you want to add and select it.

4. When done, Save Article.

Note that you can only add emojis to a text block.

The duplication of posts is a new feature that lets journalists and editors clone an existing post, edit it, and save it as new. It increases the speed of content creation in such cases when journalists cover pre -and post-game events (e.g. press conferences) or cover a developing story.

Note that you can duplicate Articles, Videos, and Galleries.

How to duplicate and article, video, or gallery?

To duplicate a post, you need to:

  1. Go to the navigation menu--> Articles (Videos or Galleries)

  2. Choose the article you want to duplicate and go to the Edit button.

  3. Expand the Edit button--> Copy Article.

Once you select the copy option, a new Create Article screen with the content of the original article will open. Also, you will notice that there is a [Copy] in front of the post’s title indicating that this is a duplicated post.

4. When you are done editing the content of your copied post → Save Article.

The re-arrangement of content properties tabs is an improvement that allows each user organize their sidebar to their preference. This helps journalists put at the top the properties they use most frequently and quickly optimize their posts.

How to re-arrange the content properties sidebar?

To re-order the content properties sidebar of your posts:

  1. Open a post (article, video, or gallery).

  2. Go to the content property sidebar.

  3. Select the on/off knob in the top right corner above the General tab --> turn Sidebar edit mode on.

4. Drag and drop to change the position of the tabs in the sidebar.

5. When done, Save Article.
